The primary goal in Eleven Triangle Solitaire is to remove all cards from the tableau by discarding pairs of cards whose combined values total exactly eleven.
Setup & Layout:
Deck: Use a standard 52-card deck with no Jokers.
Tableau (Triangle):
Deal 7 cards face-up in the first row.
Deal 6 cards face-up in the second row, overlapping the first.
Deal 5 cards face-up in the third row, overlapping the second.
Deal 4 cards face-up in the fourth row, overlapping the third.
Deal 3 cards face-up in the fifth row, overlapping the fourth.
Deal 2 cards face-up in the sixth row, overlapping the fifth.
Deal 1 card face-up at the top as the seventh row.
Stock: The remaining cards form the stock pile, placed face-down beside the tableau.
Waste (optional): As cards are drawn from the stock and cannot be played, they may be placed in a waste pile, depending on variant.
All cards in the tableau are dealt face-up and are available for play if not covered by other cards.
Eleven Triangle Solitaire Rules:
Card Values:
Ace = 1, 2–10 = face value, Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13 (however, only cards 1–10 are used for pairings; face cards are typically obstacles or may be removed in some variants if paired with specific cards, but standard rules focus on cards totaling 11).
Pairing:
Only pairs of uncovered cards (not overlapped by any other card) in the tableau whose values sum to eleven may be removed together.
When no more pairs are available in the tableau, draw one card at a time from the stock.
The drawn card can be paired with any available uncovered card in the tableau to total eleven.
If the drawn card cannot be paired, it is placed in the waste pile (if used).
Tableau Access:
Only cards that are not overlapped by any other card (i.e., fully exposed) are eligible for pairing and removal.
Gameplay:
Player Actions:
Search the tableau for any pairs of uncovered cards that sum to eleven and remove them.
Each time a pair is removed, those cards are discarded, and any cards they were covering become available.
When no more pairs are available, draw from the stock:
Attempt to pair the drawn card with an uncovered tableau card to make eleven.
If successful, remove both cards.
If not, place the drawn card in the waste pile (if used).
Continue until either all cards are removed or no more legal moves remain.
No Redeal:
Once the stock is exhausted, there is no redeal.
Winning & Losing Conditions:
Winning:
The game is won if all cards from both the tableau and the stock are removed by forming valid pairs that total eleven.
Losing:
The game is lost if no more pairs can be formed and cards remain in the tableau or stock.
Special Rules & Edge Cases:
Empty Spaces:
In standard rules, empty spaces in the tableau are not filled; only uncovered cards are eligible for pairing.
Face Cards:
In most variants, face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are not used for pairing and act as blockers. If present, they can only be removed if the variant specifies a special rule for their removal. In the standard Eleven Triangle Solitaire, only cards 1–10 are involved in pairing.
Stock Exhaustion:
When the stock is exhausted, play continues only with available tableau and waste cards (if waste pile is used).
No Available Moves:
If no pairs can be made and the stock is depleted, the game ends in a loss.
Note: Some minor rule variations may exist in digital or home versions, but the above reflects the standard, most widely accepted ruleset based on authoritative sources.
