The primary goal in Fifteen Rush Solitaire is to remove all cards from play by discarding pairs of cards that add up to fifteen, or by pairing two Aces. The game is won when no cards remain to be paired or discarded.
Setup & Layout:
Deck: A standard 52-card deck is used.
Tableau: There are seven tableau piles, arranged in a Klondike-style layout:
Pile 1: 1 card (face up)
Pile 2: 2 cards (top card face up, rest face down)
Pile 3: 3 cards (top card face up, rest face down)
Continue this pattern up to Pile 7.
Only the top card of each tableau pile is face up; all other cards in each pile are face down.
Stock: The remaining cards after dealing the tableau form the stock pile, placed face down.
Waste: One waste pile is used, initially empty.
Key Play Areas Defined:
Tableau: Seven piles where cards are dealt and paired.
Stock: Supplies new cards to the waste.
Waste: Receives cards dealt from the stock; top card is available for play.
Fifteen Rush Solitaire Rules:
Pairing and Discarding:
Only pairs of cards that sum to fifteen (regardless of suit or color) may be discarded together.
Ace pairs (two Aces) may also be discarded as a legal pair.
Only the top card of each tableau pile and the top card of the waste pile are available for pairing and discarding.
Card Values:
Ace = 1
2–10 = face value
Jack = 11
Queen = 12
King = 13.
Building Sequences: There is no building of sequences within the tableau; cards are not stacked or ordered by suit or color.
Moving Cards: Only the top card of any tableau pile or the waste pile can be paired and removed; cards are not moved between tableau piles.
Gameplay:
Pairing and Discarding:
Examine the top cards of the tableau and waste.
Discard any available pair that adds to fifteen or a pair of Aces.
Dealing from the Stock:
If no pairs can be made, deal three cards at a time from the stock to the waste pile, face up.
The top card of the waste becomes available for pairing.
There is no limit to the number of passes through the stock; when the stock is empty, the waste is turned over to form a new stock.
Filling Empty Tableau Spaces:
When a tableau pile becomes empty, it is automatically filled with a card from the stock.
If the stock is empty, empty spaces are filled from the waste pile.
No More Moves:
If no legal pairs are available and the stock and waste are exhausted, the game ends.
Winning & Losing Conditions:
Winning Condition:
The game is won when all cards have been removed by pairing and discarding according to the rules.
Losing/Unwinnable Condition:
The game is lost or becomes unwinnable if no further legal pairs can be made and both the stock and waste are empty, with cards remaining in the tableau.
Special Rules & Edge Cases:
Filling Empty Tableau Piles:
Empty tableau piles are always filled automatically—first from the stock, then from the waste if the stock is depleted.
Stock and Waste Cycling:
Unlimited redeals are allowed: when the stock is exhausted, the waste is turned over to form a new stock, and play continues.
Pairing Restrictions:
Only pairs that sum to fifteen or pairs of Aces may be removed; no triplets or larger combinations are allowed in this variant (unlike some related games).
No Tableau Building:
Cards are not moved or built on the tableau; the only movement is discarding pairs.
Card Availability:
Only the top card of each tableau pile and the top card of the waste are available for pairing.
Card Values Clarified:
Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13, Ace = 1.
Note: Fifteen Rush Solitaire is a game of both skill and luck, with a relatively high win rate compared to other solitaire variants.
