The primary goal in Triple Left Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau to the foundation piles, building each foundation up by suit from Ace to King.
Setup & Layout:
Deck: A standard 52-card deck is used (no Jokers).
Tableau: There are twelve tableau piles. Deal cards as follows:
The first pile (far left) receives 1 card, the second pile 2 cards, the third pile 3 cards, and so on, up to the twelfth pile, which receives 12 cards.
Only the top card of each tableau pile is dealt face up; all other cards in each pile are face down.
Foundations: Four foundation piles are reserved, initially empty, where cards will be built up by suit from Ace to King.
Stock and Waste: Any remaining cards after dealing the tableau (if any) form the stock pile, which is placed aside. The waste pile is created during play as cards are drawn from the stock and cannot immediately be played.
Triple Left Solitaire Rules:
Building on the Tableau:
Cards in the tableau are built down in rank and by alternating color (e.g., a red 7 can be placed on a black 8).
Only the top face-up card of each tableau pile is available for play.
Sequences of cards in correct descending order and alternating colors may be moved together as a unit between tableau piles.
Moving to Foundations:
Foundations are built up by suit from Ace to King (e.g., Ace, 2, 3, …, King of Hearts).
Only Aces can be moved to an empty foundation pile to start.
Stock and Waste:
When no moves are available in the tableau, cards can be drawn from the stock pile, typically three at a time, to the waste pile. Only the top card of the waste pile is available for play.
If the stock is exhausted, the waste pile may be turned over to form a new stock (the number of times this can be done may be limited or unlimited, depending on house rules).
Gameplay:
On each turn, the player may:
Move a face-up card (or a valid sequence) from one tableau pile to another, following the building rules.
Move an Ace (or the next appropriate card) to a foundation pile.
Flip the top face-down card of a tableau pile when the face-up card is moved, making it available for play.
Draw cards from the stock pile to the waste pile when no moves are possible in the tableau.
Play the top card of the waste pile to the tableau or foundations if legal.
Empty Tableau Piles:
Only a King or a valid sequence starting with a King may be moved into an empty tableau pile.
Winning & Losing Conditions:
Win Condition: The game is won when all cards are moved to the foundations, each built up by suit from Ace to King.
Lose Condition: The game is lost if no further legal moves can be made and not all cards have been moved to the foundations.
Special Rules & Edge Cases:
Filling Empty Spaces: Only Kings (or sequences starting with a King) may be placed into empty tableau piles.
Sequence Movement: Multiple cards may be moved together as a sequence if they are in correct descending order and alternate in color.
Stock Reshuffling: If permitted, when the stock pile is exhausted, the waste pile may be turned over to form a new stock. The number of times this is allowed may vary; check specific house or software rules.
No Moves Available: If the player cannot make any legal moves and the stock is exhausted (with no reshuffles allowed), the game ends in a loss.
Note: Triple Left Solitaire is a more challenging variant than standard Klondike Solitaire due to the larger tableau and increased number of cards per pile, requiring careful planning and strategic movement.
