The objective of Waning Moon Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau, stock, and waste to the eight foundation piles, building each foundation up in suit from Ace to King.
Setup & Layout:
Deck: Waning Moon Solitaire uses two standard 52-card decks (total 104 cards).
Foundations: There are eight foundation piles. These start empty.
Tableau: There are thirteen tableau piles (columns). Each tableau pile is dealt four cards face up at the start of the game.
Stock: The remaining 52 cards (after dealing to the tableau) form the stock pile, placed face down.
Waste: There is one waste pile, which starts empty.
Key Play Areas:
Foundations: Where cards are built up in suit from Ace to King.
Tableau: Thirteen columns where cards are built down in suit.
Stock: Draw pile for undealt cards.
Waste: Discard pile for cards drawn from the stock.
All tableau cards are dealt face up at the start.

Only an Ace can be placed on an empty foundation.
Foundations are built up by suit (e.g., Ace♠, 2♠, 3♠, … King♠).
Tableau:
Cards are built down by suit (e.g., 8♠ onto 9♠).
Only the top card of each tableau pile is available for play.
Any single card can be moved to an empty tableau pile.
Only one card may be moved at a time.
Stock & Waste:
One card is dealt at a time from the stock to the waste pile.
The top card of the waste pile is available for play to either the foundations or tableau.

Gameplay:
Initial Moves: Examine the tableau for any available Aces and move them to the foundations.
Building: Continue to build up the foundations by suit as cards become available from the tableau or waste.
Tableau Moves: Build down tableau columns by suit, moving only one card at a time. Any single card may fill an empty tableau space.
Stock Play: When no more moves are available, draw a card from the stock to the waste pile. The top waste card is available for play.
Continue Play: Alternate between moving cards within the tableau, to the foundations, and drawing from the stock as needed.
No Redeals: Once the stock is exhausted and no more moves are possible, play ends.
Winning & Losing Conditions:
Winning Condition: The game is won when all 104 cards are moved to the eight foundations, each completed in ascending order by suit from Ace to King.
