The primary goal in Yukon One Suit Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau into the foundation piles, building each foundation in ascending order by suit from Ace through King.
Setup & Layout:
Deck: Use a standard 52-card deck. In the "One Suit" variant, all cards are of a single suit (commonly Spades or another chosen suit).
Tableau: Arrange seven columns (tableau piles) from left to right:
1st column: 1 card
2nd column: 6 cards
3rd column: 7 cards
4th column: 8 cards
5th column: 9 cards
6th column: 10 cards
7th column: 11 cards
All cards are dealt face-up; there are no face-down cards in the one suit variant.
Foundations: Four empty foundation piles are placed above the tableau. Each will be built by suit from Ace to King.
Stock/Reserve: There is no stock or reserve pile in Yukon One Suit Solitaire.
Yukon One Suit Solitaire Rules:
Card Movement: Any face-up card in the tableau may be moved, along with all cards stacked atop it, as a unit.
Building Sequences in Tableau: Cards are built in descending order by rank, and since all cards are of one suit, suit matching is automatic. For example, a 7♠ may be placed on an 8♠.
Moving Cards Between Tableau Columns: You may move any face-up card (and all cards above it) onto another tableau pile if the destination card is one rank higher.
Moving to Foundations: Only the top card of a tableau pile may be moved to a foundation. Cards must be placed in ascending order by suit (Ace, 2, 3, …, King).
Empty Tableau Spaces: Only a King, or a group of cards headed by a King, may be placed in an empty tableau space.
Gameplay:
Typical Actions:
Move face-up cards (with any cards stacked above them) between tableau columns to build descending sequences.
Move Aces to empty foundation piles as soon as they become available, then build up each foundation by suit in ascending order.
Only the top card of a tableau pile can be moved to a foundation.
Introducing New Cards: There is no stock or reserve; all cards are in play from the start.
When No Legal Moves Remain: If no more moves are possible and not all cards are in the foundations, the game is lost.
Winning & Losing Conditions:
Winning: The game is won when all 52 cards are successfully moved to the foundation piles, each built in ascending order by suit from Ace to King.
Losing/Unwinnable: The game is lost if no further legal moves are possible and not all cards are in the foundations.
Special Rules & Edge Cases:
Filling Empty Spaces: Only a King, or a group of cards headed by a King, can occupy an empty tableau space.
Sequence Movement: When moving a card within the tableau, all cards stacked above it move together as a unit, regardless of their order.
No Face-Down Cards: In the one suit variant, all cards are dealt face-up at setup, so there is no need to turn over cards during play.
No Stock or Reserve: There are no additional cards to draw during gameplay; all strategy is based on rearranging the tableau.
Definitions:
